A few days ago, Gartner released their 2010 Hype Cycle for Healthcare Applications and Systems. This is a model that’s intended to help organizations understand the maturity of technologies and applications between initial commercialization and broad market acceptance.
It’s always something we watch with interest, as many of the technologies that we’ve helped hospitals implement over the past decade are truly cutting-edge, and Gartner provides one of several gauges out there to help read both the penetration and potential of emerging technologies – including trends towards “real-time” decision support.
We were pleased to see that InfoLogix was included as a sample vendor in two categories in the 2010 report: Real-Time Temperature Monitoring/Analysis, which uses RFID and WiFi networks to help monitor temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, tissue samples, etc; and Wireless Healthcare Asset Management, which they note is now reaching “early mainstream” in terms of adoption.
Always nice to be recognized at the forefront. There’s also a news release out on this if for further details.
